A Tree-mendous 2015 Ahead!

December 19th 2014 in Latest News

It's official. The dates for the first ever Tree-mendous festival at Cholmondeley are out! Join us in September 2015 for this unique family festival.

Cholmondeley is home to some of Cheshire's finest trees, so what better way to celebrate them than with our very own celebration of trees. This great event for all the family will be held over the 16th, 17th and 20th September 2015, so come and join us and explore a whole new world of wonders.

Join us for Native Tree Day on the 16th to discover the legends and traditions of our native trees, from using Elm bark to treat burns, to Ash leaf tea in the nineteenth century.

On the 17th we celebrate Conifers. If you thought that Conifers were just about 1960's rock gardens and problematic hedging then this day is for you! With a garden full of fine specimens you can delve into this world of evolutionary marvels, deciduous giants, ancient folklore and much more.

Family Fun Day is on the Sunday 20th. This is a great day for all with guided walks, tree measuring and Tree IQ tests for the grown ups. The little tree lovers can get involved in a host of fun activities including; story time in the Den, making pine cone figures, tree-hugging, tree measuring and helping to make the Cholmondeley tree of hands. We also need as many children as possible to help us make the Hyperion Line. This is in honor of Hyperion, the worlds tallest tree. Prepare to be amazed!

Further details will follow. See our What's On listings for further information.
