Lady Cholmondeley Receives Award of Recognition
Lady Cholmondeley was today recognised for her sixty years of work at Cholmondeley by Cheshire's Gardens of Distinction.
The award was presented to Lady Cholmondeley on behalf of Cheshire's Gardens of Distinction by chairman Sam Youd. The group, of which Lady Cholmondeley has long been a huge advocate, presented her with a commemorative plaque and a specimen Magnolia 'Yellow Bird', in recognition of her "Sixty years of development at Cholmondeley". Also they praised her for her "ability to inspire other gardeners and gardens, to promote themselves and the industry", as well as her being a "champion for gardening and young gardeners".
The moment was one of great pride, not only for Lady Cholmondeley but the esate as a whole, as without her drive, ambition and dedication, Cholmondeley would not be as loved by so many as it is today.
The photograph below shows Lady Cholmondeley receiving the award from Sam Youd, (pictured left), with Head Gardener Barry Grain.
