Save the date! Sunday 2nd April 2017
After a winter season of significant project work our new look gardens will be unveiled to all on Sunday 2nd April.
Our gardens continue to go from strength to strength, and this year we are proud to show off several exciting projetcs.
Border renovations continue in the Temple Garden with Laurel removal and much editing of the planting.
The Lavinia walk will continue to develop with new double herbaceous borders running almost 100m, and connecting the temple garden with the rose garden. Groundworks began in January this year and will continue throughout 2017 with the new planting scheme put in place in spring 2018. Keep watching as this significant new area develops.
The Duckery has doubled in size with extensive renovations to the south side of the garden, and a new and exciting plant list. See the blog for more information.
The Rose Garden has been been completely renovated with all existing plant material removed, raised beds lowered, fresh soil imported, and sandstone pathways restored. At the time of writing the new plant list is being finalised with almost 350 new roses to be planted.
Next to the rose garden the old tennis court has been removed to make way for a croquet lawn which visitors can play upon. It will be seperated from the rose garden by a new yew hedge that will run around the perimeter of the lawn. 650 yew plants will be planted over the next two weeks.
All this and more is being added to our already fabulous gardens, so save the date, we'll see you here!
