Cholmondeley Castle Triathlon
The second leg of the 2017 Castle Triathlon Series will take place at Cholmondeley Castle on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June. The 2016 event attracted over 1300 competitors to the beautiful countryside of Cheshire. All races at the 200 year old Cholmondeley Castle start by launching into an open-water swim in the Deer Park Mere, transitioning into a bike route which circumnavigates Bickerton Hill which is the southern most tip of the Peckforton Hills. There will be one cycle lap for the Super Sprint and two laps for both the Sprint Plus and Olympic distances. The run passes through the Estate grounds, which date back to the 12th Century, and Triathletes will finish their Cholmondeley race experience by sprinting down the main lawn to the finish line with Cholmondeley Castle as a fitting backdrop.
The Gardens at Cholmondeley will be open as usual on Sunday 25th June for garden visitors between, 11.00 to 5.00 pm (last entry 4.30). Please be aware the Triathlon event will be marshalled and visitors will be directed by the marshalls accordingly. Our disabled parking area has been relocated for this day to an area by the Cricket Club with designated parking for disabled badge holders. Please see "disabled access for more details".
