The Lakeside Walk & Nature Trail

The Deer Park Mere and Nature Trail offers a wonderful walk for visitors to enjoy having been improved in 2002 with the aim of providing a free environmental facility for schools and people with special needs.  The Mere has an extensive bird and waterfowl population.

The Wildlife is monitored and recorded with the help of Nantwich Natural History Society, who are also involved in the continuing programme to improve this lakeside area. Hard walkways help wheelchair access to parts of this beautiful area.

It is advisable to wear appropriate footwear as walkways can flood in bad weather.

The Lakeside Walk around the 'Mere' provides a pleasant walk to take in the peace, tranquility and beauty of the surroundings with extensive views across the Parkland towards the Castle.
